No Flash in the Pan
DāNite Sign Co. (Columbus, OH) recently fabricated and installed (literal) flashy signage for Pecan Penny’s, a local barbeque restaurant. The main attraction was an LED-illuminated pylon sign, featuring an LED flash device that uses a unique automobile controller for a left turn signal to alternate flashes among the three stars on the sign. Columbus’ Downtown Commission could have revoked the sign’s certificate of approval if the flickering were “too fast or obnoxious,” according to Jennifer Bender, creative director and national accounts for DāNite.
