FIRST PLACE

According to CSI’s Michael Long, Precision had very specific ideas about the wrap’s design, and he and his team happily obliged. Intended for personal use, the boat will also promote Mercury’s new, outboardracing engine. Long said, “The boat is currently turning heads down the Florida coast and the Bahamas.” CSI designed the wrap using CADlink’s Signlab, Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop and Onyx’s Production-House, and output it with 3M’s Controltac IJ180-10C media on its HP DesignJet 9000s printer.

SECOND PLACE

Would Blue Öyster Cult have been so blasé about “the Reaper” had they stood face-to-face with these menacing, flame-eyed apparitions? After having crafted the design with Adobe PhotoShop and SA Intl.’s Flexi™8, the shop printed the 19-ft.-long wrap with Controltac film with its HP DesignJet 9000s and protected the hood and scythe with 3M’s 8519 luster-finish laminate.

THIRD PLACE

A juiced-up version of the Jolly Roger icon, and lifelike depiction of piscine flora and fauna create attention-grabbing graphics for this 36-ft.-long, tournament fishing boat. First Sign fine-tuned Boylan’s handpainted fish and converted them to digital graphics, and added the tattered pirate flat and logo. The graphics comprise Oracal’s 851 cast vinyl output on a Mimaki JV-3 and are protected with Oracal’s 290 PVC, cast laminate.
