Conestoga DPI turns it up to 11 for a percussion-instrument store

Rick Hamilton, the owner of Drums Etc., a Lancaster, PA-based purveyor of percussion gear, approached Shawn O’Neal, the owner of Manheim, PA-based Conestoga DPI LLC, after having seen digital graphics fabricated for Lancaster’s Launch Music Conference. Rick wanted the 10 x 14-ft. space on his shop’s exterior wall to grab the passersby’s attention. O’Neal, himself a drummer, considered depicting a band playing a song’s opening note. Local photographer Steve Stoltzfus captured the backlit image; Conestoga DPI designer Justin Moyer refined the design using Adobe® Photoshop® and developed the printing set-up using the Colorburst® 7.1 RIP.

The shop produced the wall graphic on MACtac’s IMAGin® B-free® Pro air-release media with the shop’s Epson Stylus Pro GS 6000 solvent-ink printer. Conestoga then applied the print to Nudo’s 6mm Poly-Metal aluminum-composite panels and protected it with two coats of Clearstar Coating’s ClearShield® water-based, liquid laminate. The shop fabricated custom top and bottom aluminum channels to install the print.
