National Signs Creates Texas-Worthy Restaurant Sign

Illuminated sign brightens outlook for Lawless restaurant

Everything is bigger in Texas – a wimpy sign won’t persuade the public to enter your doors. Lawless Spirits & Kitchen, a Houston-based eatery, offers premium cocktails and such gourmet fare as venison sausage, fig prosciutto flatbread and Korean chicken tacos (and, perhaps to placate traditional Texan taste buds, there’s also a brisket and grilled-cheese sandwich).

According to its website, “Lawless Spirits & Kitchen celebrates the mavericks, dissenters, and nonconformists who have shaped the world with their unbridled courage and unrestrained passion.”

That’s quite a noble mission to embody in a sign. The restaurant’s proprietors hired Houston-based National Signs to create an elegantly rustic calling card on the building’s exterior façade.

The National Signs design team developed the 3 ft. 11 in. x 7 ft. 8 in. sign using CorelDRAW X6. Distinctive accents include a custom-color paint finish completed with Matthews acrylic-polyurethane paint, decorative steel rivet heads and a multi-layered cabinet.

National Signs MIG-welded a custom-aluminum cabinet that’s painted black with Matthews acrylic-polyurethane coatings, multiple layers of polycarbonate, and laminated, second-surface acrylic that was shaped into a classy script on a MultiCam M Series CNC router. Hanley LED Solutions’ Peregrine 2072 7,000K white modules provide the handsome signface with after-dark brilliance.
