Mutoh America (Phoenix) is unveiling its Kona multi-purpose vinyl cutters. The company offers three sizes: 30- (760 model), 54- (1400) and 65 (1650) in. wide. The machines feature an automotive, sheet-off mechanism that incorporates a rotating, long-life blade with four cutting sides for processing media. The Kona also features a laser-based, optical sensor, which aids automatic job recognition and accurate alignment. The cutters provide multiple pressure rollers – two on the 760, three on the 1400 and 1650. Their cutting speeds are adjustable up to 39.37 in. /sec, and with maximum 3G acceleration, achieve a top cutting speed of 55.67 in. /sec. According to the company, the cutter’s matching, grid-roller sets ensure long-length tracking.
