Mimaki USA (Suwanee, GA) is announcing its RasterLink6 version 5.0 RIP software that will drive the entire range of Mimaki inkjet printers including roll-based and flatbed; eco-solvent, latex, UV-LED, solvent UV and dedicated textile solutions. The RIP incorporates Pantone®+ Solid Coated and Pantone®+ Solid Uncoated color libraries that automatically detect and convert Pantone® design file spot colors to an accurate CMYK build. The RIPs preset library features Adobe® Illustrator®-compatible DIC color collection and Mimaki original color collections – including metallic. In addition, for measured color replacement, the RIP allows the use of a spectrophotometer to directly measure color patches, using spectrophotometer data for use as replacement color values. Frequently used colors can be stored in the RIP color-collection library. For post print finishing, the RIP allows you to create crop marks for use with FOTOBA cutters; it also supports copying, layout arrangement and tiling.
Mimaki USA is also announcing its Mimaki Profile Master 3 (MPM3) software with ICC color-profile creation and editing tools that allow you to produce accurate color reproduction via easy-to-use color-management processes that are achieved through a step-by-step interface guide. Knowledgeable users will appreciate such advanced features as GCR and Black generation. Additionally, the MPM3 software offers three, color-replication methods for different color workflows, including consistent, load-balancing, color-calibration across multiple, same-series Mimaki devices, to account for environmental or media variances. In addition, the software will automatically calculate and adjust color differences through straightforward color-chart measurements. It’s available bundled with an X-Rite i1Pro2 spectrophotometer, or as stand-alone software.
