Recent testing confirms mounting board, adhesive combinations

MACtac® (Stowe, OH), a pressure-sensitive adhesive supplier, is announcing it has completed testing of its adhesive-mounting films for compatibility with Alcan Composities USA Inc.’s graphic displayboards to validate construction choices for mounting solutions.

MACtac PERMACOLOR PermaPrint products, such as IP5000, which consists of a thin, opaque, polyester film coated on both sides with an acrylic, pressure-sensitive adhesive, provide a secure, aggressive adhesive for Alcan Composites’ mounting boards, including black and white Sintra, Gatorplast, Gatorfoam, Fome-Cor, JetMount and Dibond, to meet the needs of print labs, signshops and digital providers.

Mike McKitrick, product manager, Alcan Composites, explained the testing demonstrated “the stability and likely success of pairing MACtac and Alcan products. It also helps determine performance expectations and educates customers about the capabilities of the different adhesive systems available on Alcan’s mounting boards.”

“This formal testing makes it easier for graphics producers to understand their choice for the right mounting system,” said Jeff Stadelman, technical marketing manager, MACtac Graphic Products.
