Daktronics Inc. (Brookings, SD) has designed, manufactured and installed new marquee video and messaging displays at the campuses of Long Beach (CA) City College (LBCC).
The 8 x 7-ft. marquee, located on the community college’s Pacific Coast Campus, features the LBCC logo above a curved, LED video display that comprises ProPixel® freeform LED sticks. Designed to be incorporated into a structure of any size or shape with video, animation, color effects, text messages and live data, the ProPixel® LED elements use ultra-bright LEDs. The freeform video elements are individually mountable, direct-view pixels that deliver full-motion video, animation and special effects.
A second marquee on LBCC’s Liberal Arts Campus will feature a two-sided Daktronics video display, each side measuring more than 5 x 9 ft. With pixels spaced at 16mm, this display will show recorded video, animations, graphics, text and announcements.
Established in 1927, LBCC is divided into two campuses: the Liberal Arts Campus, located in the residential community of the Lakewood Village section of Long Beach, and the Pacific Coast Campus, in central Long Beach.
