Harlequin RIP Upgrade

Increased productivity for pre-press departments, digital print and workflow operations

Global Graphics (Cambridge UK), has introduced its Harlequin PLUS Server RIP (v.8.1), upgrade that offers substantial trapping, transparency performance and spot-color processing enhancements. The upgrade will bring increased productivity and efficiency to pre-press departments, digital print and workflow operations, the company says.

Harlequin’s TrapPro™ in-RIP trapping engine features an eight-fold performance increase. And, because graphic designers increasingly use complex transparencies, the company also performance improved its complex, live-transparent jobs system.

Beginning with Version 6.0, all Harlequin RIPs have automatically recognized live transparency PDF files and subsequently generated the correct results. Harlequin says the new enhancement further advances the systems productivity gains.

The Harlequin ColorPro™ spot-color conversion, which supports RGB, CMYK, N-color and Gray ICC 4.0 profiles, also features increased accuracy.
