Graphtec America (Irvine, CA) has announced its i-DesignR Pro design software for vinyl sign, apparel and print and cut applications with its CE5000 and FC8000 series cutting plotters. The software, which accepts popular file formats, includes more than 1,100 fonts, a font detective function and font creator. Additional inclusions are clipart import, object and text scaling, text, an object fit-to-path function, proof email (for project approval) and spell check.

i-DesignR Pro also supports the CE5000 and FC8000 cutting plotter series Advanced Registration Mark Sensing (ARMS) system, which enables contour and die cutting of preprinted graphics for short run labels and decals.

For custom apparel applications, the software includes vector editing functions, import filters, and automatic rhinestone fill patterns that can be applied to original artwork or clipart. The software includes a full Swarovski rhinestone library, rhinestone count and project cost capabilities, and multiple automatic fill patterns. Designs created in i-DesignR Pro can also be cut using heat transfer material such as flock and colorful foils to create personalized shirts, sports wear, caps and more.

Customers who purchased i-DesignR CE may upgrade to i-DesignR Pro by contacting their authorized Graphtec reseller.

Graphtec’s CE5000 series cutters are available in 15- to 42-in. widths; the FC8000 series are available in 24- to 64-widths. Both cut various substrates, including vinyl, cardstock, apparel heat-transfer material and rhinestone stencils.
