After the “white death” of winter melts away, concrete and masonry contractors are in high demand as customers look to repair and replace damage exacted by cold weather. In Wisconsin and other climates in the Great White North, the need for such qualified vendors is even greater. To stand out in the marketplace, Wausau, WI-based AK Concrete & Masonry hired FlipSide Graphics, also of Wausau, to wrap its work truck.
FlipSide fabricated the wrap with 3M Controltac IJ180Cv3-10 air-release media, which it decorated on its Mimaki JV33-160SP solvent-ink printer with Mimaki SS21 solvent inks. Both sides of the wraps that decorated the Chevy Suburban measure 211 x 64 in. 3M’s Scotchcal 8519 luster-finish topcoat will help the wrap, like its customer’s new and repaired walls, withstand frigid seasons to come. They installed the wrap with 3M’s RollePro applicator, installation magnets, felt-wrapped nylon squeegees and a heat gun for post-installation warming.
“We created the diamondplate pattern by matching the color of the trowel on his logo, and we created a color fade to blend the roof with the sides,” FlipSide’s Russ Voigt said.
