Martinsville Speedway, a ½-mile, International Speedway Corp.-owned, NASCAR stock-car track operated in Ridgeway, VA, has installed an integrated video, scoring and advertising display system that was designed, manufactured and installed by Daktronics Inc. (Brookings, SD). Located in the center of the infield, the displays stand 80 ft. high to provide visibility. The system was installed in the fall of 2008.

The system features three, 30 x 18-ft. Daktronics LED videoscreens, positioned in a triangle, to offer a clear view to spectators sitting around the track. Each video board can operate as a single display or be divided into many zones to show statistics, information, graphics, animation, and live and recorded video.

Below, the video screens, a 5-ft.-high digital LED ring display scrolls information and graphics that show racing information, promotional messages and crowd prompts. Sponsors can also enhance messages through motion graphics.
