Car Wrap Lady Puts Poetry in Motion

Burlington, ON dance studio gains effective sales tool

Founded in 1996, The Performance School of Dance and Music in Burlington, ON, Canada has taught thousands of students jazz, tap and ballet steps. Appreciating the value of beauty in movement, they contracted the Car Wrap Lady (aka Rachale Cavanagh), also of Burlington, to wrap a Honda Element to inspire those seeing the car to sign up for classes. The previous wrap provided a laconic, text-based message, which she replaced with a kinetic graphic – created with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator – that features lively colors and dancing silhouettes.

Cavanagh decorated the Element (a favorite among many wrap providers because it offers an edgy style and minimal contours and curves to complicate installation) with Avery MPI 1005 Supercast Easy Apply RS that’s output on a Roland VersaCamm VS-640 printer/cutter with Eco-Sol Maxx eco-solvent inks. To keep the kokopelis and lithe figures dancing through harsh Canadian winters, she applied Avery’s DOL 1360 glossy overlaminate with a Royal Sovereign 54-in. pressure laminator.
