The Flyer Guys
Arizona Color’s clients, the husband-and-wife ownership team of James and Stefanie McKinney, print and deliver flyers in bulk throughout the Valley of the Sun. They understood a wrap would make an impression. Arizona Color designed the wrap using Adobe® Photoshop®; the old-school logo and rust-colored patina that’s applied along the wrap’s perimeter scored points with the judges. The shop produced the wrap on its HP L26500 latex-ink printer with 3M™ IJ180Cv3-10 air-release media, and protected it from Arizona’s harsh climate with 3M’s Scotchcal™ 8518 glossy topcoat, which was applied with a Seal Ultra 62 laminator.

Fort Myers COC officials brainstormed how to attract attention and grow membership for the organization, and decided a wrapped Airstream trailer would effectively grab attention at civic events. Drotleff designed the wrap using Corel X4 and Adobe Photoshop Creative Suite 6. To account for the Airstream’s extreme, compound curves, Wrap This! printed the wrap in triangular sections and used the trailer’s aluminum panels to create cut lines. On its HP L25500 latex-ink printer, Wrap This! produced the job with 3M’s Controltac with Comply v3 air-release media that’s sheathed under a Scotchcal 8518 topcoat. The installation team of Pete Dow, Caleb Perry and Ken Shofstall secured the wrap with 3M Gold nylon squeegees and Roller L applicators, and installed the wrap’s second-surface graphics with knifeless tape.

Canton Towing
Over the past five years, Dr. Wraps has wrapped more than 35 vehicles for Canton Towing, according to Dr. Wraps’ Debbie Hailstone, and, for this super-sized truck, the customer wanted something with extra visual impact. The shop designed the wrap with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and produced it with FlexiSign Pro. The installation team prepped the truck’s surface with denatured alcohol and 3M’s Primer 94. Dr. Wraps produced the 375-sq.-ft. wrap with 3M Controltac with Comply v3 film on its Mimaki JV3 solvent-ink printer. For the lettering and the chevrons along the base, Dr. Wraps overlaid 75 sq. ft. of 3M’s IJ680 CR-10 printable, reflective media. Dr. Wraps laminated the wrap with Scotchcal 8518, which it coated using Royal Sovereign’s RSC-1400C laminator. Installers applied the wrap with 3M Gold and Avery felt squeegees. The installation team removed all lights, mirrors and trim pieces to simplify the job.
