3A Composites USA Inc. (Statesville, NC) is presenting Smart-X® graphic-display board, which, according to the company, is the first heavy-duty foamboard that is 100% recyclable. The lightweight material comprises an all-plastic sheet that’s constructed with a moisture-resistant, expanded-polystyrene core and two layers of UV-resistant, solid polystyrene. It can installed outdoors for up to two years, and, because it’s produced without adhesives between its core and face layers, it won’t delaminate during exterior installations. According to the 3A Composites, 95% of waste accrued during Smart-X’s production is collected and recycled onsite.
