2nd Annual Vehicle Graphics Contest Readers’ Choice: A High-Tuned Machine

360 Wraps wins the vote; Awthentik finishes as runner up

After the success of last year’s inaugural Vehicle Graphics Readers’ Choice Award, we were happy to let ST and signweb.com readers once again have their say. By design, the Readers’ Choice pool of contenders diverges somewhat from the juried portion of the competition. We selected 10 top scorers across all seven categories from the judges’ scoresheets to fill out the Readers’ Choice field. However, the judges’ voting also includes a second round of verbal debate (the top scorers from the first round aren’t presented in the order in which they were voted, so results often vary). As it turns out, every Readers’ Choice nominee earned at least an Honorable Mention in the judges’ field.
Approximately 1,300 votes were cast in the 2nd Annual Readers’ Choice Vehicle Graphics Competition, and the results were undisputed: 360 Wraps’ decoration of a Hyundai coupe (souped up with a Corvette motor, it’s worth noting) for TunerGoods.com, an automotive-aftermarket-equipment
purveyor, won handily – it captured more than 36% of the vote. The fighter-plane motif remains popular, and its sleek, metallic design likely scored it points with readers. Awthentik’s apocalyptic Scion wrap for Armored Ink Tattoo, which earned Best of Show, finished second by earning just over 27% of tallies. Australian shop Reed Signs took third with a tank-wrap design for its shop vehicles, and won 17% of votes. Awthentik had two other candidates (That Bus and Mad Mantis); other nominees included Ferrari Color, McCullough Creative, Media 1/Wrap This Ink!, Metro Wrapz and Wicked Wraps.
We open up the field for respondents to impart comments about their favorite wraps. Here’s a sampling of their opinions:
• “I’ve seen the team at 360 Wraps do what they do, and I have to say they are THE BEST wraps in the biz. They have a great attention to detail, gets the point across in a clean and artistic way, and they take pride in the absolute perfection of each wrap.”
• “All a high class of work; difficult decision.”
• “The Wicked Wraps boat looks amazing on the water, what a cool and creative photo.”
• “I would have lunch in the [Media 1/Wrap This Ink!] Tree House [food-truck wrap].”
