A. William “Bill” Trucksess, who oversaw Philadelphia Sign Co.’s (Palmyra, NJ) rise from a custom signshop to a full-service national sign company, passed away recently at 87 years old. Trucksess, an industrial engineer, became the president of Philadelphia Sign – founded in 1911 by Trucksess’ father – in the 1960s and oversaw all corporate operations until 2012. “His success was [achieved] because he never gave up and he did whatever he had to do to get the job done while remaining competitive,” said Bob Mehmet, the current president and CEO of Philadelphia Sign. “He had a vision, and that’s why the company has been – and will remain – successful.”
