Flight of the Forest
Surely one of the more fascinating airport art installations in the US is Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s “Flight Paths.” Situated on an underground walkway between two concourses, “Flight Paths” imitates a Georgia forest using a combination of LED lights, video and sound, including birds chirping and rain showers. According to the airport, the 450-ft. installation is the largest single public art project in Atlanta history; artist Steve Waldeck labored for 13 years to bring his concept to reality.
