For their 2018 Print Census, FESPA surveyed 1,405 respondents from 102 countries throughout 2017 from a range of print businesses, including sign and display, digital printing, screenprinting, commercial printing and reprographics. Enthusiasm for coming days reigned among the respondents, with 83% saying they were optimistic for the future of their business. Quick project turnarounds for customers, short runs and “rising expectations of just-in-time delivery” were all reported by at least 59% of respondents. Wallpaper and interior décor (74%) and POS/POP displays (59%) were strong areas of growth for businesses. Sustainability was a popular subject, too, with 76% of respondents indicating that customer demand for environmentally responsible products was influencing their business.
