The Intl. Sign Assn. (ISA; Alexandria, VA) announced that Elvis Davis, a longtime Memphis, TN sign industry professional, received the Kirk L. Brimley Distinguished Service Award at ISA International Sign Expo 2018. ISA presents the award each year to a leader who has made significant contributions to the sign, graphics and visual communications industry.

Davis was honored for his work with ISA and the Mid South Sign Association (MSSA), serving on both boards of directors. Davis served on numerous ISA committees, including the regional committee and government affairs.

“Elvis has long served the industry in a number of capacities,” said ISA Chairman of the Board Mark Granberry. “Elvis also made sure that other sign company owners could learn from his experience. He has presented training on business strategies for many years, helping others succeed as he has.”

Davis noted that the sign, graphics and visual communications industry has been good to him, providing a solid livelihood that allowed him to rise above humble beginnings. He began his career in the industry in 1959 as a sign painting apprentice with Service Sign Company. He later became an ownership partner and founded several additional sign companies. Since 2010, he has worked for Eastern Metal Supply as an industry ambassador.
