The signage world recently lost an industry veteran with the passing of Dane J. Frauenholz. In the early ’70s, Frauenholz began working at Cornelius Signage (Pittsburgh) before starting Dane’s Woods in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, a shop that specialized in sandblasted signage. Over the last 15 years, Frauenholz worked for Sign-Lite (Cleveland) and Akers Signs (Canton, OH). According to his son, Frauenholz’s industry knowledge stretched far and wide, with his specialties including engineering drawings, project estimation and wind-load calculation.
