Bill Dundas, a 40-year veteran of the on-premise sign industry as a fabricator, installer and journalist, has been named chairman of the board of the non-profit Foundation for the Advancement of the Sign Industry (FASI). An inaugural member of the FASI Board, Dundas replaces chairman Steve Kieffer, who has retired.

Dundas worked full-time in the sign industry from 1974 until 1996, when he became a technical editor for Signs of the Times. Later, he served the Intl. Sign Assn. as director/manager of technical and regulatory affairs for nearly a decade. Currently, Dundas serves on ST’s Editorial Advisory Board and writes a bimonthly column.

FASI, which was founded in 2016, serves as a clearinghouse of information for and about the on-premise sign industry. Its website, fasi.org, the world’s most comprehensive source of information about on-premise signs’ research, value, legal aspects, best practices and case histories, includes a complete copy of The Signage Sourcebook and other out-of-print books; links to such resource organizations as The Sign Research Foundation, the Academic Advisory Council for Signage Research & Education, and the United States Sign Council Foundation, Inc., and a complete resurrection of the defunct Small Business Administration’s former sign-related website.
